A Brief History
From a humble beginning of one thousand five hundred layers and eight hundred broilers, Akate Farms and Trading Company Limited (AFTCL) has now over four thousand layers and ten thousand broilers.
With hard work and determination, other agricultural sectors have been added. These include rearing oof ruminants – cattle and sheep, as well as fish farming, plantain, mango and pineapple cultivation.
Akate Farms has developed intoa a most notable the biggest and innovative poultry industry in Ghana. The main branch is located in the forest belt of Ghana (west Africa), precisely at dotea suburb in Kumasi (Ashanti Region) on the antoa road.

Akate Farms a rapidly growing Poultry Enterprise in Kumasi started as a small poultry farm at a suburb in Kumasi (Dote) with about 1,500 layers and 800 broilers. Through dedicated service, the farm has now developed dramatically and is now known to be one of the biggest poultry farms in Ghana.
As the years progressed, more agricultural enterprises were added to the poultry industry. These included fish farming, crops (mango, citrus, plantain, cassava and maize) and small ruminant rearing. Presently the company has spread its tentacles into construction works as well.
